CSK Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University, also known as CSKHPKV Palampur, is a state university located in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, India. The College of Agriculture was established in May, 1966 formed the nucleus of the new farm University. Later it was established in 01 November 1978 by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly as a State University name known as Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University. It is ICAR accredited and ISO 9001:2015 certified institution

The university is named after Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar, a freedom fighter and former minister of Himachal Pradesh in 2001. CSKHPKV Stands for Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research has ranked this University at eleventh place among all farm universities of the country.

The university has four constituent colleges: College of Agriculture, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, College of Community Science and College of Basic Sciences. It also has six research stations and 10 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (Farm Science Centers) spread across the state.

The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in various disciplines of agriculture, veterinary and animal sciences, community science and basic sciences. The admission to these programmes is based on merit in national or state level entrance tests such as ICAR-AIEEA, NEET-UG, NTA-UGC NET or CUET.

The university has a strong research and extension mandate to address the problems and challenges of hill and mountain agriculture. The university has developed and released 177 improved varieties of different crops for the different regions of the state. It has also developed more than 100 farm technologies and provided various diagnostic, advisory and consultancy services to the farmers.

The university has a well-equipped library with more than 1.5 lakh books, journals and e-resources. It also has modern laboratories, farms, workshops, hostels, sports facilities and health center. The university has a vibrant campus life with various cultural, literary and sports activities.

The university has received several awards and recognitions for its academic excellence and contributions to hill agriculture. It has been accredited by ICAR with A grade in 2014. It has also been ranked among the top agricultural universities in India by various agencies such as NIRF, ICAR and Outlook.
